Intake Policy

Guidelines for Bringing Kittens into Our Rescue

Our intake policy is designed to ensure that each kitten we rescue receives the best possible care. If you’ve found a kitten and are unsure what to do next, please follow these guidelines. We are a small rescue with limited space and resources. We will do everything in our power to help you, but we occasionally implement intake freezes to ensure the quality of care for the kittens currently in our care. If you are interested in fostering the kitten you found, please let us know.

Guidelines

Check the kitten for any immediate health concerns and ensure it is in a safe environment. If the kitten needs immediate veterinary care, please take it to Blue Purl. Please note that this may result in a charge. If you are unable to cover the cost, please contact us, and we may be able to help or point you in the right direction. At this time, we do not accept kittens with extreme or immediate health concerns due to limited resources.

Temporary Care:

If you can provide temporary care until we arrange a foster home, please keep the kitten warm, fed, and hydrated. If you are interested in fostering the kitten, please let us know.

We will attempt to coordinate the transportation of the kitten to one of our foster homes or our facility for further care. We cannot guarantee transportation.
