At Dockery's Amazing Rescues, our mission is to provide for the adoption and placement of rescued cats and kittens in permanent homes. We are committed to the care and well-being of these homeless cats and to educating the public on responsible pet ownership.

Every kitten deserves a chance at a happy, healthy life. We rescue kittens from the streets and owners who can no longer care for them, ensuring they receive the medical attention, socialization, and love they need to thrive. While our primary focus is our local community, our love for kittens knows no bounds; if we are able, we will help any kitten in need, regardless of location. Our efforts extend beyond immediate rescue to address the root causes of homelessness through spay/neuter programs, community education, and advocacy for responsible pet ownership.

Our vision is a community where every kitten has a loving home. We believe in a future where no kitten is left to suffer and where compassionate actions lead to a significant reduction in stray and abandoned animals. Our Journey

From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Community Rescue

Amber Dockery's journey from a compassionate animal lover to the founder of Dockery's Amazing Rescues began with a single emaciated stray cat. Her dedication to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats has since transformed countless lives and inspired a community to support her mission.

From a young age, Amber Dockery had a special connection with animals, always rescuing strays and finding them loving homes. Her passion for helping cats led her to start Dockery's Amazing Rescues after rescuing an emaciated, flea-ridden stray. Nursing that first cat back to health filled her with a profound sense of purpose.

Realizing the vast number of neglected and abandoned cats, Amber dedicated herself to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming these animals. She converted her garage into a temporary shelter, complete with cozy beds, scratching posts, and toys, ensuring each cat received the love and attention they deserved. Partnering with local shelters, veterinarians, and animal welfare organizations, Amber worked tirelessly to provide the best possible care.

Despite the challenges of finding space and resources, Amber’s resolve only strengthened. As word spread, more people reached out for help, and Amber found herself assisting pet owners who could no longer care for their cats and rescuing abandoned or injured cats from various situations. The sheer number of cats in need was both heart-warming and heart-breaking, reinforcing her commitment to her mission.

Running the rescue has its difficulties, including the financial strain and the emotional toll of saying goodbye to cats when they find their forever homes. However, the rewarding transformations in the cats under her care make it all worthwhile. From shy, scared kittens to older cats who have faced untold hardships, each cat has a unique story, and Amber takes pride in seeing them thrive.

Amber’s journey, supported by family and friends, is not just about saving cats but also about saving souls. The love, companionship, and joy that these incredible animals bring into our lives are truly priceless. Amber hopes her story inspires others to help animals in need through volunteering, fostering, or spreading awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these precious creatures, one meow at a time.

Bobby Hartley, born and raised in Key Largo, has dedicated many years to feeding and rescuing cats in his hometown. He continues to support the community by sending food to care for the local cats.
